argh! the life of an educated and frugal dvd consumer can be rather frustrating. tvshowsondvd.com reports that both tar-get and walmart are selling warner dvd sets for under $20... do i need an extra copy or three of lnc?

i've been meaning to add an update since forever, and at one point will go on a hallelujah-induced monologue. but as i've always been a bad emailer, i guess my career as a frequent blogger was doomed from the start. still, i'll try to make a better effort esp if explaining my ridiculous fear of the others will help me sleep easier on weds nights...and every other night as well.
today is my birthday, and it was a nice day at home with my family. but i ddin't sleep on the plane and am barely keeping my eeys open by now. i ate lots of fun stuff, including new england pizza with lots of their russian dressing, and my mom's really super yummy chocolate-covered birthday sponge cake. it's the same shape as the sponge cake on curb, but a million times better i'm sure :) michael got me gummy-o's, which i must say is a truly inspired gift. and i was a special guest in yael's fourth grade class this afternoon - which was my first taste of celebrity status since comic con/july 17th. (the serenity premier doesn't quite count since there were actually real celebs there and it was clear who was a peon and who was not, no matter the fact that everyone walked the red carpet by placing one foot in front of the other.) i also went along with my dad when he went to take pix of a boxer, bernard hopkins. i got to climb up into the boxing ring and take a couple lame swings at those hanging punching things, and though i don't know much about the sport, i'm impressed at the lack of any trace of fat on mr. hopkins' extremely toned body. and i felt like lois when they went to investigate at the boxing gym which was an added bonus.
ok, time to take out my eyes, find some pajamas, and crash probably in the new room. 10 years ago, arielle and denise were watching legends in here while i was blissfully babbling on the phone in the bathroom. can't believe that was supposedly so long ago, - now i'm probably too old to sing at all. btw, it's colder in 19012 than weather.com lead me to believe so if you're planning a trip to the east coast this weekend take heed.
ha - fozzie actually just made a fairly amusing joke on my muppet dvd's - what do you send to a sick florist?

been watching OC and im'ing - and this song was playing during the sailing scene. using rebecca's patented google lyrics trick, i found the rest of the words and here they are:
http://www.leoslyrics.com/listlyrics.php?hid=uZWB%2BWZUTZM%3D
i went to buy the song so i could listen again, and cry some more, and maybe if i'm lucky feel a bit better afterwards - but my just-updated itunes' music store decided that ian broudie isn't cool enough to be part of their club, and i've heard that rhapsody isn't mac friendly? i also had a song-induced breakdown courtesy of the sav-on bgm this afternoon and now i'm enjoying the mid-80's soundtrack of REUNION. fox is lucky that i don't know my singles well enough to know if they skimped out on the preventing-anachronisms budget - ew, awkward molly ringwald reference - but i'd imagine shows are more careful to get their details in order since the advent of the internet age. REUNION is a lot cliched so far, but is part of my plan to watch all the shows this season featuring fomer buffy people. just wish all those shows weren't on at the same time! then i have to start playing favorites once i figure out which ones actually are my favorites.
now they're playing turn around - that didn't help :( and now time after time, i wish all of the songs that break my broken heart weren't so cliched and common. ha, luckily take on me has yet to do any real damage.
anyway, it was a bit strange to watch the first new shows of the season on fox, almost makes me think it's november after world series.

hello to all of mike's and arielle's friends who may have accidently found their way to my newest outlet of frustration and grief. just kidding! once the new tv season starts i hope to babble on about all of my favorite programs, and the other ones i watch anyway. stay tuned for spoilers (if you're even farther behind on tivo-viewing than i am) and some far fetched wishes, as i immerse myself in worlds hopefully happier and more interesting than my own. please stay tuned and let me know if i'm missing anything important :)
